First Sunrise of 2026 – The sun shines to the west of I think Hawaii island and to the east of Maui (not in picture)
Yes The Sun Rised!
Woke up early today and went to take photos of the sunrise for the first time in about five years from Diamond Head Lookout. I was one of the earliest to arrive at around 5:30 in the morning. By the time the sun rose, the area was filled with people doing the same thing. Watching the sunrise and taking photos, most with their smart phones.
Funny thing is I recharged the battery for my Canon EOS T7 camera. I brought the camera with me but forgot the battery in the charger. Good thing I also brought my old Canon Powershot S5iS camera that I bought brand new in 2008. The old thing can still take some decent shots. I also shot a few with my 2016 vintage Samsung Galaxy J7 phone.
