Is Giving Second Chances Worth It?

From Question Diary on my Android comes this:

Is Giving Second Chances Worth It? – January 29, 2019.

Depending on the person or the situation, giving someone a second chance is worth it if you want to maintain a good relationship among friends and relatives. I think I can give people a second chance if the transgression is something that can be easily forgiven.

There are times and situations where giving someone or something a second chance is out of the question. For example if someone commits a serious capital crime against another is final. No second chances… go straight to jail.

Second chances for me are often not given to products that have failed me. An example I like to point out are devices that have built in batteries that users cannot replace.

I loved my Apple iPod Touch that I bought in 2010 for $400. It worked fine for 8 years until it’s built in battery just refused to hold a charge and the device would not even play when docked into an AC powered device.
Up to that time, it was working just fine.

Bad Apple.

The battery in the iPod Touch is next to impossible to remove and replace. Apple just wants you to buy a new one. I paid $400 for this. I expected it to last a lot longer.

No second chance that I will ever buy another Apple iPod Touch or an iPhone (which I never owned).
